Chelsea flower show
The Chelsea Flower Show was held in late May in 1964 and the Times reported that "...Thomas Rochford and Son Ltd have staged the most beautiful group of greenhouse plants - that they have ever arranged and indeed it is not invidious to say that it is probably the best in the show. Their saintpaulias are superb. There are plants of stepanotis only a foot or so high, laden with flowers, glorious bougainvilleas and codiaeums, and of course the popular foliage plants in impeccable condition." Thomas Rochford and Son Ltd did indeed win a Gold medal at the show.
