Knitting at Fleet primary school
Children knitting at the Fleet Primary School, in Camden in March 1970. School curriculums in the 1970s were much more varied than in schools now. Literacy and numeracy were always taught however beyond that the curriculum depended on the inclinations and specialities of teaching staff and Head teachers. Both boys and girls were taught how to knit at school during the 1970s along with other crafts such as sewing and woodwork.
