Protestors at the nursery school lobby
In 1968 there was much concern about the lack of nursery education available. According to the Council for Educational Advance in 1968 only 1 child in 14 was receiving any sort of nursery education. In 1960 the government had issued a circular which prevented local authorities from expanding nursery provision and the women attending this protest march were asking for this to be revoked.
