Mini road at the Cumberland Market Community Play Centre
Tunnel and children in a play car and bicycle. The Cumberland play centre and playground opened in 1953 for local children. In 1963 the site was reinvented and 'Traffic Town' was created for the children to explore. As well as play houses there was also a large climbing frame made from a decommissioned steam roller and a road on which the children could drive play cars. The road included roundabouts, tunnels, traffic lights and a play petrol station.
