Manfred Man performing on television show ‘Ready, Steady, Go’. Manfred Man were so named after the keyboard player Manfred Mann. In 1964 the group was asked to provide a new theme tune for the television show ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ and ‘5-4-3-2-1’ was an immediate chart success. Later the theme tune was changed to another of the groups songs ‘Hubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble’. They group were very popular with the British teenagers who watched the Friday night show.
