Lulu waiting to perform on television programme ‘Ready, Steady, Go’ in 1964. Lulu released her first single ‘Shout’ in the spring of 1964 and it was an immediate success. It propelled the Scottish singer to the top of the charts and she has been popular ever since. In 1964 and 1965 Lulu performed on television and radio and performed live in concerts across the country. She was awarded the first of many awards, ‘Britain’s Most Promising Newcomer In Showbusiness’.
