Christmas Lights on Regents Street, 1960
The Christmas lights in Regent Street in the form of angels with trumpets, December 1960. Electric lights were first lit ito decorate the street in December 1948 and they have been a tradition in London ever since with hundreds of people attending the 'switching' on ceremony. Regent Street is one of the main shopping streets in London and visiting the lights after a day of shopping is a much loved Christmas ritual.
