On 22nd September 1960 bailiffs and police battled through hundreds of protestors to evict Don Cooke and Arthur Rowe from their flats in Kennistoun House, Kentish Town. The men had barricaded themselves in their flats to resist eviction and hundreds of tenants came to support them however the presence of as many as 800 police officers meant that they were greatly outnumbered and they were removed that afternoon.
