Sir William Coldstream, Head of the Slade School of Fine Art
Sir William Coldstream, Head of the Slade School of Art. He was the Professor of Fine Art at the school and achieved an international reputation for excellence. He became a CBE in 1952 and was knighted in 1956. In 1961 he published the Coldstream report for the National Advisory Council on Art Education which proposed a new Diploma in Art and Design.
