Pupils first day at the Jews Free School
Pupils on their first day at the Jews Free School, September 1958. Now known as the JFS school it is located in Kenton, North London. The school was founded in 1732 as the Talmud Torah of the Great Synagogue of London, for orphaned boys of the community. The school had been located in the East End of London but was destroyed by bombing during the Second World War. A new school was built in Camden and was reopened in 1958.
