Donkey rides on Hampstead Heath
As a popular weekend destination, Hampstead Heath has traditionally provided a range of activities for families. In the early 1800s there were said to be 100 donkeys on the Heath every day. By the 1950s this number was much reduced however rides were still popular and continued until the 1960s.
