Meeting Dan Dare at Whiteleys Department Store, Christmas 1953
Space travel and particularly Dan Dare related games and toys were the ‘must have’ toys for boys of Christmas 1953. Dan Dare was a character who featured in ‘The Eagle’ comic. He was a space rocket pilot who flew missions into space to planets to seek extra terrestrials and intelligent life. Here children are meeting a Dan Dare character at Whiteleys Department Store in Bayswater, London.
