City Workers near Euston Station
City workers outside Euston station in May 1952. All three men are wearing hats. Bowler hats as worn by the 2 men on the left were the marker of a bank worker. Until the 1960s no respectable man would have left the house without a hat however with the increase in the use of cars they became less useful for protection from the weather and less fashionable. Two of the men also carry rolled umbrellas.
