Stall holder at Hampstead fun fair
Stall holder at the entrance to a tent at the Hampstead Fun Fair in 1952. A weekly fair was held here as well as the more popular and larger Bank Holiday Fairs held at Easter, spring and late summer. Thousands of Londoners travelled to Hampstead Heath to attend these fairs which featured a big wheel, swings, dodgems, carousels, helter skelters, palmistry, coconut shies, shooting ranges, street photographers and refreshment stalls.
