British Peace Commonwealth Lobby, 1955
The British Peace Committee organised a demonstration on 25th October at the Houses of Parliament. It was arranged that groups of 20 or 30 people from all over the country would be admitted to the central lobby to speak to and question their MPs to demand Peace in the Commonwealth. Most questions concerned the Geneva Convention and the use of atomic weapons. Question time was followed by a procession to Embankment and then a meeting in Bloomsbury.
