Fashion — 1911-1913
Fan
Souvenir paper fan collected by the donor's parents on the occasion of their visit to the Palace Theatre when on holiday in London, probably in 1912, to see Anna Pavlova dance with the Imperial Russian Ballet. There is a programme with the same illustration on the cover dated 3 May 1912.
The fan has brown stained wood sticks and guard with a printed painting of the audience at the Palace Theatre, London done by R. S. Matthews, showing a box, the conductor and some orchestra, and a glimpse of the stage. In the left hand corner is written 'With the compliments of the Palace Theatre London W. ' then 'B. G. Vienna'
