Miss Gertie Millar
This postcard shows Gertie Millar in the costume of 'Mitzi' in 'The Girls of Gottenberg'. This musical comedy opened at the Gaiety Theatre in London on 15 May 1907 and ran for 303 performances. The plot involved a troupe of Blue Hussars quartered in Rottenberg looking forward to being transferred to Gottenberg where there is a ladies' university. The commander of the Hussars, Prince Otto, falls in love with Mitzi, who he believes to be an inkkeeper's daughter but who is in fact the Margravine Elsa.
