Pistol, double barrelled flintlock pistol
Double-barrelled pistols had the advantage that the user had two chances in the event of a misfire. This flintlock pistol was made by William Beckwith who had a shop on Skinner Street, Snow Hill. His shop was attacked during the Spafields Riots on December 2 1816. Beckwith was a contractor to both the Board of Ordnance at the Tower of London and the East India Company.
