Museum in Docklands — 1988
Jarre Destination Docklands
Progamme for Jean-Michel Jarre's outdoor concert which took place in the derelict setting of the Royal Docks on the nights of 8–9 October, 1988. The concert was a spectacular event which made full use of electronic music, lasers, light shows and fireworks. It was attended by 100,000 people and cost five million pounds to stage. The event was so disruptive the River Thames was closed to traffic for the two nights of 8th and 9th October 1988, and much of the surrounding East End was closed to traffic. Tickets were originally issued for dates in September, but the concert was postponed because of safety concerns.
