Photograph, gelatin silver print
The chimneys of Fulham Power Station at Battersea Reach. Sandra Flett was a semi professional photographer who lived in Chiswick and photographed the river extensively. She could see the Thames from her house and writes of walks along the river: ’Here the houses and the occasional long-chimneyed factories look easily across at one another'. For her, the river was a ‘geographical backbone’ linking together the disparate parts of London.
