Little Radish
Little Radish is one of the characters of Una Maw's book The Vegetable Kingdom. The dolls were made by Maw while she lived in London around 1920, and were donated to the London Museum in 1922. Within the book, the Little Radishes are the children of Miss Turnip and are seen causing disturbances around the court. They become scouts during the war.
Doll with stuffed cloth body dressed in a tunic of coarsely woven blue cotton with a green silk tie at the waist. Head resembles a radish made from purple silk, with facial features embroidered and painted on, including eyes of cloth covered buttons and 'leaves' or hair knitted in two shades of green wool. Doll is attached to a small metal chair.
