Mr Globe Artichoke
Mr Globe Artichoke is one of the characters of Una Maw's book The Vegetable Kingdom. The dolls were made by Maw while she lived in London around 1920, and were donated to the London Museum in 1922.
Doll with stuffed cloth body dressed in a romper (or jumpsuit) of light blue cotton painted with a world map. Legs painted to resemble khaki puttees. Head resemebles a globe artichoke with facial features painted, embroidered or sewn on. Head surrounded by stuffed cotton 'leaves'.
