Printed Ephemera — 1989-1991
Gulf Peace Team Policy Statement
This leaflet describes the aim of the Gulf Peace Team’s International Peace Camp. They set up the Peace Camp on the border between Iraq and Saudi Arabia shortly before the Gulf War. When Saddam Hussein, leader of Iraq, invaded Kuwait in August 1990, the US and its European allies attacked Iraq. The Gulf Peace Team was made up of international members who tried to influence public opinion in favour of peace and not war. Its London co-ordinators were Ginnie Landon and Mohamed Sidek Ahmad.
