A group of children and adults around a dalek
A group of adults and children are shown clustered around a dalek in a park, during the 'Make Children Happy Festival'. The festival took place in north-west London on 30 September 1972 and was organised especially for children.
Daleks were popularised by the science-fiction programme 'Doctor Who' which was first televised in 1963. The original series ran until 1989.
This photograph is one of a series of 5 images by the photographer Henry Grant which depict the 'Make Children Happy Festival'.
