Ras Prince Monolulu
Ras Prince Monolulu, a well-known horse tipster, poses for a photograph in Brighton, where he would often attend the races. Born as Peter Mackay in 1881 in St. Croix in the American Virgin Islands, the tipster came over to Britain in the early 1900s and soon became one of the best-known and flambouyant London showmen. He died in 1965. Collins photographed him a number of times including in London's east end during the late 1940s.
