This poster publicises the 4th Annual Talent Show organised by Hackney Council for Racial Equality and Hackney Arts and Entertainments at Stoke Newington Town Hall, 6 March 1986. A highlight of the event is a 'Special Guest Appearance by Sophia George of Girlie Girlie Record Fame'. The record 'Girlie Girlie' was written and produced in Jamaica by Horace Davis, who also wrote songs for reggae star Bob Marley. Sung by Sophia George, it was a hit both there and in Europe, entering the British Top Ten in 1985.
