Sampler
Rectangular cream wool canvas worked in polychrome silks in cross, running, satin and feather stitch, with rows of geometric and floral borders and the alphabet. Two long sides are hemmed with the two short sides using selvadge. Inscription: "WILLIAM PANTER MY FATHER DEARE PAID FOR THIS THAT I HAVE HEARE OCT 15 1683".
