Poster headed 'The Inconceivable Emancipation'. It advertises a series of talks by the Venerable Sangharakshita, Head of the Western Buddhist Order, given in 1968 at the East West Centre at 188 Old Street, EC1. Born Dennis Lingwood, Urgyen Sangharakshita was a Londoner who converted to Buddhism when he was posted to India during World War II. After spending many years as a Buddhist monk in India, he returned to England, where he established the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order in 1967.
