Printed Ephemera — 1979-12-10
New Equals
Copy of 'New Equals' newspaper for December 1979. This was a free paper produced once every two months by the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE). Articles in this issue relate to prosecutions for racial discrimination brought against a working men's club, a pub in Tottenham and a solicitor's. The front page also carries a piece on Clifton Robinson, Deputy Chairman of the CRE, who criticises discriminatory immigration laws which 'give a veneer of respectability to the scapegoating of immigrants as the cause of a whole host of social and economic evils'.
