Printed Ephemera — 1982
Gay News
Gay News was a fortnightly newspaper published between 1972 and 1983. The leading article in this issue looks at 'the gay side of horror movies'. The writer examines films like 'The Hunger' in which Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon play lesbian vampires and Brian De Palma's 'Dressed To Kill' where the murderer is a transsexual. He concludes that 'in so many horror-thrillers, the murders are...it's often implied, entirely justified as punishment for rampant permissiveness'.
