Pawnbroker's ticket issued by William T Cutts, 10 & 12 Albany Road, Old Kent Road, 27th January 1908. These details are printed in red on the card which is also stamped with a unique pawn number '6542'. Handwritten on the ticket is 'petticoat 0.3.0 Jane Simson 42 Mina Road'. Pawning was a way of life for the poor. Pawnbroker’s loaned cash on the security of possessions, chiefly clothing or jewellery. Goods pawned on Monday morning were collected on Saturday evening, payday, for wearing on Sunday.
