I Know what I am, Gay teenagers and the law
Pamphlet entitled 'I know what I am/Gay teenages and the law', containing the full text of the Joint Council for Gay Teenagers' response to the Home Office's working paper on the age of consent in relation to sexual offences. The response was delivered to the Home Office in January 1980. The pamphlet includes a number of statements from gay teenagers, including one from a sixteen year old girl from Walthamstow: 'I rang up Gay Switchboard [...] I remember I was crying because [...] I'd never spoken to another gay person before. I was frightened at first but then I was really relieved that I'd had the courage to do it.'
