London Museum Docklands Library — C. 1930
Cigars and the man
The book contains entertaining sections such as :' Who are the Men who smoke Cigars?' (Answer: 'I know of scarcely a single man who has made his own fortune and who does not smoke cigars.') There is also a Question and Answer section. Q: ' Why is it that I sometimes come across a very misshapen cigar? A: 'This is not a badly made cigar, but is one from outside the bundle which has been pressed in by the silk ribbon tying the bundle.'
There is a large section given over to advertising Martins of Piccadilly (cigar shippers). The book was once part of the Port of London Authority Library.
