'Rockers' at the Busy Bee transport café, Watford
Riding heavy motorbikes and wearing thick leather jackets, gangs of 'rockers' congregated at this transport café, the Busy Bee. On the Watford by-pass, it was a popular haunt for the rockers, who could play their rock-n-roll music on the jukebox.
One amusement was to select a record on the jukebox, then race down to the first roundabout and back again before the track ended. An annual reunion is held at the site of the former Busy Bee café in the Watford Hilton Hotel.
