Children perform Bengali dances at a community hall, Barnet
An event at this community hall in Barnet drew together local people for whom English was a second language. Sharing their diverse cultures, these children performed dances from Bengal based on the lyrical poetry of Rabindranath Tagore.
The Hindu Tagore wrote in Bengali but translated much of his work into English. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1912.
