A trader at Petticoat Lane street market
Many characters sold their wares, produce and services at Petticoat Lane market along Middlesex Street on Sunday mornings.
A lively market in pets and livestock including dogs, birds, hens and fish thrived in nearby Club Row. The puppy trade was extremely popular and often a trader would carry puppies through the crowds in an attempt to attract a sympathetic buyer.
