Printed Ephemera — 1993
Yaohan Plaza
Fold-out leaflet advertising the Yaohan Plaza Japanese shopping centre on Edgware Road, northwest London, 1993. It lists products sold by the Plaza's Japanese delicatessen, supermarket and restaurants. On the back is a list of stalls involved in the Plaza's Sake Festival. Addressing the large Japanese community in Edgware, all product information is in both Japanese and English. There are additional sections printed in English explaining particular Japanese dishes including the Oden, Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu methods of cooking. The Plaza later changed hands and was renamed the 'Oriental City', specialising in a wider range of southeast Asian products from China, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as Japan.
