Souvenir pendant compact
Pendant compact, bought by Grace Patricia Burgess, on the opening day of the British Empire Exhibition, 1924 as a souvenir of her visit. Grace, who was 17 years old at the time of her visit, worked at St Katharine Dock for a marine insurance firm. The circular compact is of electroplated nickel silver, with a small suspension loop at the top for holding a chain. The hinged lid is incised with the lion design that was used as the logo for the Exhibition.
