Telephone kiosk component
This backboard is a taken from a telephone kiosk and features components from different periods. The caller inserted their money in the coin box and then dialled the number. Upon hearing the voice of their correspondent they would press button A releasing the money into the box. If the line was engaged or the other person did not answer the caller would press button B to return their money. There are a number of notices providing a list of exchanges and call charges. Their are also instructions to dial 0 to call an exchange which is not listed or to send a telegram. The caller could also ring 0 to contact directory enquiries.
