Discs, sample telephone colour discs
This pot contains six coloured plastic sample discs for the General Post Office's new range of telephones in the 1930s. The colours available were: old gold, oxidised silver, ivory, jade green, walnut and Chinese red. The range of colours exploited the potential of new plastics on the market in the inter-war period which were used to manufacture more stylish telephones.
