Telephone answering machine
British Telecom marketed Robin the 'friendly answering and recording machine' for both business and home use. Robin used a single C60 cassette tape. The user could record a short outgoing announcement for callers and store messages to hear again later. Messages could also be accessed remotely by using a simple sequence of speech and silence.
