Telephone
700 series telephones were introduced by the General Post Office in 1959. The 746 design became available in 1967 and was a standard telephone supplied by the Post Office to its customers until the 1980s.
The light in the handset of this model 746F was an optional extra, providing a visual signal of an incoming call for those with several telephones and for people with a hearing disability.
