Telephone
This Model 332L telephone, spray-painted gold, commemorates the two millionth telephone to be installed in London on 23 September 1954. The plaque is engraved with the name Field-Marshal Viscount Alanbrooke KG, the Lord Lieutenant of the County of London and Constable of the Tower of London. Alanbrooke served as Chief of the Imperial General Staff (Head of the British Army) during World War Two. This particular telephone was refurbished at the GPO factory in Holloway in 1962.
