Petticoat, wedding petticoat
Part of wedding dress ensemble made from a Vogue pattern. The groom declined to wear a morning suit so bride determined not to wear white to her wedding.
Full-length printed and painted silk petticoat. Fabric has black outlined paisley pattern in red, green, white,pink and blue on a painted gold background. Garment is roughly made with two darts at the back and two small pleats at the front, set into an interior, white, petersham waistband. Left hand side opening has popper button and hook & eye fastenings. Selvedge of the fabric forms the hem. Garment is unlined.
