Printed Ephemera — 1929-1939
Telegrams for London
This leaflet was issued by the General Post Office to provide information about changes to the telegraph service in London. It informs users that the telegraph system has been reorganised to conform to London postal sub-districts in order to speed up delivery. Telegram addresses had to include the postal district initials and number e.g. N.5. This made sending the telegrams cheaper because it reduced the number of chargeable words.
