Printed Ephemera — 1978
Say it with words.
This poster features the famous advertising character Buzby created by the Post Office and subsequently used by British Telecom. Buzby first appeared on British television in May 1976. At the time the Post Office was concerned about public dissatisfaction over high telephone charges. The Buzby marketing campaign was intended to promote the benefits of cheap rate calls and encourage new subscribers. Buzby's voice was provided by the actor Bernard Cribbins (who also played Donna Noble's grandfather in Dr Who).
