Social History — 1956
Chair, swivel chair
Dr F Barber practised as a GP at 38 Brookfield Park, now in the borough of Camden. The premises served as both his home and his surgery. The fixtures and fittings of the surgery, including the doctor's chair, were custom made to a small scale so that they could be accommodated in the relatively small space. Dr Barber was a Jewish immigrant, having escaped with his wife from the former Czechoslovakia during World War II.
