Janie and Manuel Terrero lived in Pinner. In 1910 Janie established a local branch of the Women's Social and Political Union in the area.
Her husband Manuel Terrero was a member of the Men's Political Union For Women's Enfranchisement and the couple were known for organising campaign fund-raising tea parties in the garden of their home.
JanieTerrero took part in the WSPU window smashing campaign, and was sentenced to four months in Holloway prison in March 1912 for smashing 4 plate glass windows at Messrs Steddalls in Oxford Street, a manufacturing retailer of women's ready to wear clothing Having joined the Suffragette prison hunger strike Janie was forcibly fed by the authorities.
