Printed Ephemera — 1908-02-13
Ticket
Ticket of admission for the 'Women's Parliament' organised by the Women's Social and Political Union on Thursday, February 13th 1908 at Caxton Hall. This 'Women only meeting' was chaired by Emmeline Pankhurst to discuss the King's Speech and discuss the Enfranchisment Bill that was hoped would be introduced into Parliament that session. The message on the ticket reads 'we demand the vote on the same terms as it is or may be granted to men.' Entrance to the Women's Parliament cost 6d and drew delegates from across the country. The angry delegations to Westminster that followed the Women's Parliament sessions resulted in several scuffles with the police and the arrest of many Suffragettes including Emmeline Pankhurst.
