Coronet
Silver gilt coronet worn by HRH Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone for the Coronation of George VI in 1937. The coronet comprises four fleur de lys alternating with two St John's Crosses and two strawberry leaves. Decorated with ermine edging, it includes a purple silk velvet cap of estate with a tassel of gold bullion and thread. It is lined with cream corded silk. Princess Alice (1883-1981) was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria, her father being Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, the youngest son of Queen Victoria.
